GFF to host MD Anderson Cancer Center’s First Global Conference in Australia

GFF is collaborating with the MD Anderson Cancer Center for the first MDA global program conference in Australia.  In Spring 2020, GFF will provide support by hosting the conference Leadership Meeting, a pre-conference Symposium and two networking events in Sydney, Australia.  MDA is one of the world’s most respected centers devoted exclusively to cancer patient care, research, education, prevention and liver cancer specialists.  The annual conference highlights and facilitates global collaborations with a focus on clinical and translational research, population health and government engagement.  Due to Sir Owen’s involvement, the University of Auckland Medical School and the Sir Owen G. Glenn Liver Cancer Research Center representatives will speak and be highlighted at the symposium.

This month, GFF Patron/USA Rep., Lauren Pittman will attend the 2019 conference in Houston, Texas to meet with the executives, gather information and report back to Sir Owen for the planning of the 2020 conference.  Among leading specialists (to be disclosed on a future date) Dr. Michael Kupferman will be in attendance.  He is the Senior Vice President of Clinical and Academic Network Development at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. In this role, Dr. Kupferman leads the development, management and growth of clinical oncology and research programs across the Cancer Network, inclusive of domestic and international partnerships.

Sir Owen was impressed by the level of expertise, care and success he had as a patient of MDA.  He is looking forward to hosting MDA and its global network collaborate to develop impactful, innovative ideas and research that help lessen the world’s cancer burden and save lives.

Keep your eye out for further information and developments of this worthy initiative.
