Home in Kalibo, Philippines, ready to receive solar.
The Glenn Family Foundation is providing solar-powered solutions for people without access to electricity. We have selected the tried and tested D-Light which is the largest distributed solar lighting brand in off-grid communities. These solar solutions are transforming the way people all over the world use and pay for energy.
There is an off-grid solar energy revolution happening in small communities all over the world and we want to accelerate this viable alternative to traditional electricity systems by donating systems to those in the most rural areas, with a pilot project currently underway in Aklan, Philippines. Our plans are to begin larger roll outs in Philippines and India, followed by Nepal.
In the video below, Amar Inamdar introduces us to proud owners of off-grid solar kits and explains how this technology has the opportunity to meet two extraordinary goals: energy access for all and a low-carbon future. “Every household a proud producer as well as consumer of energy,” Inamdar says. “That’s the democracy of energy.”
