There is an off-grid solar energy revolution happening in small communities all over the world and we want to accelerate this viable alternative to traditional electricity systems by donating systems to those in the most rural areas, with a pilot project currently underway in Aklan, Philippines. Our plans are to begin larger roll outs in Philippines and India, followed by Nepal.
Clean water, basic toilets and good hygiene practices are essential for the prevention of disease. Today, there are around 2.4 billion people globally who do not have access to adequate sanitation, and 663 million who do not have access to safe water sources.
The Glenn Family Foundation is blessed to be working with the Child Development in Society in Nepal and their Self Empowerment and Employment Programme (SEEP), which teaches literacy and business skills to illiterate rural women so that they can start their own businesses to supplement the income of their families so they do not have to work in poor conditions and have their children engaged in child labour.
We look forward to growing our relationship with this wonderful organisation and the rural communities of Nepal.

Child labour is rampant in certain areas of India. A door-to-door survey conducted by the Bal Suraksha Abhiyan (BSA) Trust in the town of Kalimpong and neighbouring villages identified 261 child labourers who were employed in hotels, garages, teashops, bakeries and households.
The Glenn Family Foundation runs a volunteer programme, GFF HELPS, which runs community projects in India, Nepal, Philippines, China an Vietnam. Projects focus on education, health, skill building and personal development. Volunteers, or “GFF Representatives” live in rural communities for six months so that they are able to make a meaningful impact.

Myanmar has one of the highest blindness prevalence rates in the world with 8.1% blindness in rural areas. Blindness is caused by cataracts (64%), glaucoma (17%), trachoma (4%) and other causes (15%).
